The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill. I’ve heard some say that blocking this step would be a victory. And my question is, a victory for who? A victory for what?

A Senate in the Gun Lobby’s Grip
SENATORS say they fear the N.R.A. and the gun lobby. But I think that fear must be nothing compared to the fear the first graders inSandy Hook Elementary School felt as their lives ended in a hail of bullets.

Boston Marathon Bombing
With 3 dead and over 130 people injured, what is the right wing freaking out about? Obama didn’t say the word ‘terror’ in that 3 or so minute speech. Never mind that nobody knew yet what the hell was going on or that terrorism tends to be a word with legal implications and that messing around with accusations might interfere with actually, you know, charging people and getting it to stick.
