Another Benghazi hearing falls flat
Issa over-promised and under-delivered. The dramatic hearing that Republicans and Fox News hoped to use to bring down the Obama presidency and permanently derail Hillary Clinton’s still-unknown ambitions did neither — there’s still no conspiracy; there’s still no cover-up; there’s still no political scandal.

Just don’t rape anybody
Is that really so hard to say? Guys, seriously. This isn’t about women jumping through every hoop imaginable in order to “avoid being raped”. This is about YOU, you know, NOT RAPING ANYBODY. Rape culture and hyper-masculinity and patriarchy and agency are all a part of talking about it, and those aspects are important to understanding and we should be discussing them. But what it comes down to is this: Stop raping. At its simplest, that’s it. That’s where we start.

Syrian rebels used sarin gas?
Those same rebels that McCain and the rest of the rabid right wing wants to arm? Those guys? That didn’t turn out so well the last time the right wing did it. Again, Assad is no saint, but the guys on the other side aren’t either. It might be good to remember that before arming them, and only then finding out you’ve armed the next group to commit terrorist acts against your own country.
