It is long past the point when any reputable news enterprise should take seriously any story emanating from the pathological liars at The Daily Caller, or Breitbart News, or even Fox News. Particularly if the story hinges on videos of unknown origin with anonymous sources and fraudulent editing.

Hubris, and McCain
The Maddow special “Hubris” could have been done at any time and it would be valid, but I do like that it comes at a time when the right wing is carrying on cranky over the Hagel nomination, when McCain is making an ass of himself, supporting the most foolish elements of the Iraq war.

So very afraid
The need – the absolute need – to be armed isn’t brave. Not even close. I’m not talking about weapons as tools here, I’m talking about weapons to shore up a very weak inner self. I’m talking about guys defining their manhood by how well armed they are.

Not Reasonable Adults
I suppose we could assume that most gun-owners are not like Alex Jones – that most are probably more like McChrystal – but I’ve met a hell of a lot of the former. Shrieking, screeching lunatics that seem to make up a big part, or at least the noisiest part, of the gun “conversation” that’s supposed to be happening.

About those drones
Will command of drones be moved out of the hands of the CIA and into the hands of the military, where it will face more oversight? Looks like that might be the plan. Maybe that was always the plan.
