More of Mittens in Israel [Shorter Question Everything]

• “Steadfast” – just in time for Romney’s visit :D

• “The Choice”

• Here’s why Romney will NEVER release his tax forms, and why we need to keep hounding him

What would Romney say in secret? It can’t be good, what would he promise?…

• Romney not done insulting the British – next up: King David Hotel Fundraiser – Speculation over why GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney originally excluded reporters from his Jerusalem King David Hotel fundraiser is perhaps beside the point. Nobody in the American press is going to center a story around the event upon the fact that this hotel was the scene of an awful act of terrorism, perpetrated upon the British in July, 1946

• The trip of Republic Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney to Israel is in bad taste for lots of reasons. He is holding a fundraiser at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem / broken his pledge of transparency and declared the fundraiser off limits to the US press / Romney clearly intends to slam President Obama while in Israel / Sheldon Adelson / Netanyahu interfering in an American domestic election / Romney is promising his donors in Jerusalem a war on Iran

• Speaking to reporters in Jerusalem, a top foreign policy advier to Mitt Romney said the GOP presidential nominee would support an Israeli decision to attack Iran’s nuclear program. The right-wing adviser Dan Senor told reporters: If Israel has to take action on its own, in order to stop Iran from developing the capability, the governor would respect that decision.

• Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign reversed its decision to bar reporters from an upcoming fund-raiser in Jerusalem, saying on Sunday it will now allow a pool of journalists to cover the presumptive GOP nominee’s remarks. The reporters, however, will be escorted out before Romney takes questions from the audience during the event on Monday.

• Following a series of well-publicized gaffes in London, Mitt Romney’s campaign may be trying to restrict press access to the former Massachusetts governor as he travels to Israel, violating a pre-negotiated agreement. Romney, who is flying with a group of reporters on his international trip, had agreed in April to allow limited media coverage of all finance events held in public spaces. But on Saturday, the campaign suddenly reneged on that deal and announced that a fundraiser with big-money American donors — including controversial casino magnet Sheldon Adelson — in Jerusalem’s King David Hotel would be “closed press“

• Romney plans to raise campaign money in private while in Israel, so what he tells wealthy American supporters abroad will be kept quiet from voters at home. Romney’s campaign is barring reporters from a fundraiser at Jerusalem’s King David Hotel and not saying why.

• In 2007, Mitt Romney told Jonathan Darman of Newsweek that he personally baptized dead people without the dead person’s prior consent. When NEWSWEEK asked Mitt if he had personally done baptisms for the dead— ROMNEY: “I have in my life, but I haven’t recently.”

• In his latest broadside against the incumbent’s foreign policy, Mitt Romney blamed President Obama for the Arab uprisings last year, arguing that he could have headed them off by pressing the region’s autocrats to reform first. “President Obama abandoned the freedom agenda,” Mr. Romney told the newspaper Israel Hayom, referring to President George W. Bush’s democracy policy. Romney offered no substantive policies for how he would have dealt with Arab governments differently.

• Bibi Tosses Mitt Under the Bus – What’s interesting here isn’t that Romney appears to have exaggerated his relationship with Netanyahu. That’s a political misdemeanor. What’s interesting is that Netanyahu seems to be thoroughly uninterested in backing up Romney even a little bit. …At the same time, he insists that his relationship with Obama is better than we think. This is probably just normal politics — why diss the American president in public, after all? — but it’s still an interesting juxtaposition.

• VP hopeful Tim Pawlenty, and Sarah Palin come out in support for anti-LGBT Chick-Fil-A. They are joining a who’s-who of conservative activists — Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Rev. Billy Graham, The Family Research Council, Concerned Women for America.

• There, enough, right wing nutjobs!: In fact, it turns out, there are two busts. One that the White House still has and we have photos of Obama showing it off to Cameron recently. The other was a loan to the Bush administration which, like all art that was loaned to that administration, was returned.

• Christopher Broach, a Democratic inspector of elections in Colwyn, Pa., says he won’t enforce Pennsylvania’s voter ID law. “To ask me to enforce something that violates civil rights is ludicrous and absolutely something I am not willing to do,” Broach told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Dawood Military Hospital Scandal: An explosive Congressional investigation revealed horrific new details this week about a U.S. funded military hospital in Afghanistan that kept patients in “Auschwitz-like” conditions. The investigation also revealed that Lt. General William B. Caldwell, then commander of the $11.2 billion dollar a year Afghan training program, tried to block the probe and ordered a cover-up.

• A federal court [Judge John Kane] has temporarily blocked the Obama Administration’s contraceptive mandate for one Colorado air conditioning company [Hercules Industries], in the first of what promises to be several legal fights over the regulation, ultimately winding up at the Supreme Court. The American Civil Liberties Union described the ruling as “discrimination,” saying that it prevents employees from making their own health care decisions, forced instead to abide by the religious beliefs of their employers.
